We all like freedom, especially the freedom of flight. However, with every freedom come responsibilities. All rules can be broadly divided into Flight Rules established by Federal Aviation Administration (known as Federal Aviation Regulations, or FAR), Transportation Security Administration (TSA) rules, and company policies and procedures. We don’t have control over the first two, but we try to make the company rules (that are still necessary to ensure everybody’s pleasant flying experience) as simple as possible. We advise you to familiarize yourself with all information contained in this section before applying for training. It will save you a lot of time. If you print and fill out all forms and bring all required documents and their copies to your first appointment, it will make the whole process much smoother.

Operating Agreement

Our Operating Agreement is designed to ensure fast progress, pleasant, safe, and fair environment for all our clients. Please download this document, review, sign, and date it. Keep a copy for your records and bring the signed original with you. Please contact us if you have trouble downloading or opening the document.

We require that the Operating Agreement is reviewed either in person or in a live online session with our company representative. We reserve the right to record this session (video and/or audio).  This session maybe chargeable to you at current ground training rates.

The agreement is valid for 6 calendar months after which it has to be renewed in the same manner if you wish to continue flying with us.

Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Rule

Before September 11, 2001, it was possible for anyone to just show up in a flight school and start taking flying lessons. After those tragic events, TSA has implemented a rule that requires all non U.S. citizens to undergo a background check before they can start training. The most current version of the rule can be found on FAA website

Of course, reading this government document might require more patience than most of us possess, so AOPA has nicely put it in plain English for us:http://www.aopa.org/tsa_rule/. This article describes documents and information required from each kind of candidate as well as the qualification process step by step. We just need to point out several important details.

Our company trains pilots who fall into Category 3 according to the TSA Rule. That means that if you are a U.S. Citizen, the only thing you need to do is to present any acceptable proof of citizenship and let us make a copy of it.

For non U.S. citizens, the process is more involved and costly, however you may start your training not waiting for the TSA approval. All you need to do is apply for training with TSA. If TSA notifies us of a potential threat (which is not likely) we have to stop training.

List of All Required Documents

• For U.S. citizens: proof of citizenship. The list of acceptable proofs is listed in the TSA Rule and on the AOPA website. See section TSA Rule for links. If the proof of citizenship doesn’t qualify as a photo ID, please bring a valid state-issued photo ID.

• For non-U.S. citizens: current, unexpired passport and visa, copy of proof that TSA fees have been paid.

• U.S and non-U.S. pilot certificates

• Medical certificate

• Pilot Information Form filled, signed, and dated

• Operating Agreement signed and dated

• General Credit Card Authorization Form filled, signed, and dated if applicable
